I would argue even more necessary. I love the tradition of a wedding in a house of worship. I find that couples aren't always given all the options available to them. A decade ago I left my job in advertising to start a boutique event planning firm, LoLo Event Design. After planning LOTS of weddings I couldn't help but notice some just felt different. All were beautiful in their own way. Some were magnetic.
Wanting every couple to have an unforgettable day, I asked myself why.
The commonality wasn't in the aesthetics or the budget. Is was in the connection of the couple and the intention of their choices.
These unforgettable weddings were born in heart forward, authentic ceremonies.
The difference was so tangible that I’ve re-engineered my entire planning method to ensure this connection is front and center for every couple. I’ve taken courses by Priya Parker, the author of The Art of Gathering, and Richard C. Schwartz, creator of the Internal Family Systems branch of therapy.
I believe that truly heart authentic weddings are not only more memorable in the moment, but can change the trajectory of the couples lives.
